Terms and Conditions

Effective and last updated: 19 July 2026

1

Agreement to these terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the CV WS website and any CV writing, career support or related service that you order from us. Please read them before placing an order.

By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms. If you are ordering as a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the rights that cannot legally be excluded under UK consumer law.

The terms that apply to an order are those displayed when the order is placed. We may update these terms for future orders, but changes will not retrospectively alter an existing contract unless required by law or agreed with you.

About CV WS and how to contact us

CV WS provides professional CV writing and career support services. References to “CV WS”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the provider of the services described on this website.

You can contact us using any of the details above. We may contact you using the email address or telephone number provided with your order.

3

Our services

Depending on the package selected, our services may include bespoke CV writing, ATS optimisation, cover letters, LinkedIn optimisation, consultations, interview preparation, CV circulation, ApplyMate, application strategy, career-change support and related career services.

The precise scope of your service is set out on the package page and in your order confirmation. Examples, templates and descriptions on the website illustrate our approach but do not guarantee that your final documents will use a particular layout, wording or design.

Our services are prepared for your individual requirements using the information you supply. We may assign an appropriately experienced career specialist or writer and may change that specialist where reasonably necessary to deliver the service.

4

Orders and formation of the contract

Submitting an order is an offer to purchase the selected services. A binding contract is formed when we accept the order by sending confirmation or beginning the service, whichever happens first.

We may decline an order before accepting it where we cannot provide the service, where the order contains an obvious pricing or description error, where payment is not authorised, or where fulfilling the request would be unlawful or inappropriate. If we are unable to provide a service after accepting an order, we will provide any remedy required by law.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. If you order for another person, you confirm that you have their authority to provide their information and instruct us.

5

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information about your employment, education, qualifications, achievements and objectives. You must review every document before using or submitting it and tell us promptly about inaccuracies or omissions.

You must not ask us to include false, misleading, confidential or unlawfully obtained information. You confirm that you have permission to provide all documents and personal data supplied to us.

You must respond reasonably promptly to requests for information, consultations, questionnaires and draft feedback. If information or approval is delayed, any estimated delivery date will move accordingly.

6

Prices, payment and instalments

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. The price confirmed when we accept your order applies to that order, even if our website prices later change.

Payment is due in advance unless we expressly agree otherwise. Where an instalment option is offered, you remain responsible for all instalments shown at checkout. Instalments divide the purchase price; they do not create a monthly subscription unless explicitly described as one.

Payments may be handled by a third-party payment provider. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. The payment provider may apply its own terms and privacy notice.

If a payment fails or is reversed, we may pause work and delivery until the amount due is paid. This does not affect rights you may have where a payment is disputed for a legitimate reason.

7

Digital delivery and no-refund policy

Our CVs, cover letters, LinkedIn materials and related documents are personalised digital content produced to your instructions and supplied electronically rather than on a tangible medium.

No-refund policy. Orders cannot be cancelled or withdrawn once placed. CV WS does not offer discretionary refunds. All payments are final once work has begun or personalised digital content has been supplied, except where a refund is required by law.

By placing an order, you request that we begin preparing and supplying your personalised digital content immediately.

Some packages also contain service elements, such as consultations, ApplyMate, CV circulation or interview preparation. These services may begin immediately after you place your order.

Nothing in this clause limits your statutory remedies where digital content is faulty, misdescribed or not of satisfactory quality, or where a service is not provided with reasonable care and skill. Any refund required by law will be made without undue delay and normally within 14 days using the original payment method unless agreed otherwise.

8

Delivery, consultations and timescales

Any turnaround time shown is an estimate unless we expressly confirm a fixed deadline in writing. The turnaround period begins when payment has cleared and we have received all information reasonably required to start.

Complex briefs, delayed customer responses, unusually high demand or circumstances outside our reasonable control may extend delivery. If a material delay arises, we will contact you and agree reasonable next steps.

Documents are normally delivered electronically to the email address or communication account provided. You should check spam and junk folders and keep your contact details current. Microsoft Word and PDF versions will normally be supplied where appropriate and technically possible.

9

Revisions, finalisation and free updates

Unlimited amendments apply to the first draft until you confirm that the CV is final. Amendments must relate to the original brief and be requested in good faith. They do not include an entirely new document for a different person, fabricated information or repeated reversal of previously approved instructions.

Please consolidate feedback wherever reasonably possible. We aim to return revisions within four working days, but this is an estimate and may vary according to complexity and workload.

After finalisation, our free CV updates cover reasonable factual changes to your CV, including new employment, responsibilities, achievements, qualifications and certificates. A complete repositioning for a substantially different career, or new services such as a cover letter or LinkedIn profile, may require a separate quotation.

10

ApplyMate, CV circulation and additional services

Where ApplyMate is included, you authorise us to identify suitable vacancies and submit applications using the information and strategy agreed with you. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your information and for responding to employers, recruiters and interview invitations.

CV circulation and recruiter outreach involve sharing your professional profile with selected recruitment contacts or platforms for the purpose of career opportunities. Details of how personal data is handled will be explained in our Privacy Policy and, where required, through a separate instruction or consent.

Interview preparation, application strategy and career coaching are advisory services. You decide whether and how to act on the guidance provided.

11

File uploads and electronic communications

Our website accepts PDF and DOCX files up to 4 MB. A file is checked before it is sent as an attachment to our staff mailbox. For a larger file, contact admin@cv-ws.com for an alternative arrangement. We may reject files that are unsupported, corrupted, unsafe or unrelated to the requested service.

You should retain your own copies of all documents. Although we take reasonable technical precautions, internet and email transmission cannot be guaranteed to be uninterrupted or completely secure.

You must not upload malware, executable code or content that infringes another person’s rights. We may suspend a submission or order where a file presents a security or legal risk.

12

Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the materials and information you provide. You grant us a limited licence to use, edit and reproduce them as necessary to deliver the services.

Once the applicable price has been paid, you may use, copy, edit and submit the final documents we prepare for your personal career purposes. Any third-party fonts, software, platform features or templates remain subject to their respective owners’ rights.

The website, branding, original website copy, graphics and underlying materials belong to CV WS or its licensors. They may not be reproduced, resold or commercially exploited without written permission.

13

No guarantee of employment outcomes

We will provide the services with reasonable care and skill, but hiring decisions are made by employers and recruiters. We cannot guarantee interviews, job offers, a particular salary, application responses, ATS scores or placement within a particular period.

Market conditions, your qualifications, experience, conduct, application activity and employer requirements are outside our control. Statements about potential outcomes, recruiter networks or typical results are not promises that the same result will occur in every case.

14

Service quality and your legal remedies

We are required to perform consumer services with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time where no time is agreed, and in accordance with information we provide that forms part of the contract.

If you believe the service does not conform to the contract, contact us promptly and explain the issue. Where required by law, you may be entitled to repeat performance or, where repeat performance is impossible or not completed within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience, an appropriate price reduction.

Our revision process is intended to resolve concerns quickly, but it does not replace or limit your statutory rights.

15

Our responsibility for loss or damage

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, was not caused by our breach, or resulted from inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by you.

We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of rights that cannot legally be excluded.

If you use the services wholly or mainly for business purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, data or opportunity. Subject to liabilities that cannot be limited, our aggregate liability to a business customer arising from an order will not exceed the amount paid for that order.

16

Complaints

If you are unhappy with a service, email admin@cv-ws.com with your name, order details, the issue and the outcome you are seeking. We will acknowledge the complaint and aim to provide an initial response within three working days.

We may ask for further information and will investigate fairly. Making a complaint does not affect your statutory rights or prevent you from seeking independent consumer advice.

17

General terms

Data protection. We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. The policy explains the information we collect, the purposes for which it is used, retention and your rights.

Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delay caused by events outside our reasonable control. We will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and take steps to minimise the effect. If a substantial delay occurs, we will discuss the appropriate remedy with you, including any remedy required by law.

Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation where this does not reduce your rights. You may transfer your rights only with our written agreement, except where the law permits otherwise.

Severability and waiver. If a court finds part of these terms unlawful, the remaining terms continue in effect. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right.

Third-party rights. No person other than you and CV WS has a right to enforce this contract, except a lawful successor or permitted transferee.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland retain any rights to bring proceedings in their home courts. Business customers agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
