Cookie Policy

Effective and last updated: 25 July 2026

Google Analytics is optional

Vercel provides cookie-free measurement. Google Analytics is blocked until you accept analytics, and rejecting it does not affect the website’s core functions.

About this policy

This policy explains how CV WS uses cookies and similar storage or access technologies on this website. It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use personal information more generally.

The website is operated by CV WS. You can contact us at admin@cv-ws.com, on 020 4620 6352, or at 1029a Finchley Rd, Finchley, London NW11 7ES.

2

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on a computer, phone or other device when a website is visited. Cookies can allow a website to recognise a device, maintain a session, remember preferences or understand activity over time.

Similar technologies include local or session storage, tracking pixels, scripts, tags, link decoration and device fingerprinting. UK rules can apply whenever a service stores information on, or accesses information from, a user’s device—not only when a traditional cookie is used.

Cookies may be session cookies, which normally expire when the browser closes, or persistent cookies, which remain until their stated expiry or until deleted. They may be set by CV WS as first-party cookies or by another organisation as third-party cookies.

3

How this website currently uses these technologies

CV WS uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights for anonymised, cookie-free website and performance measurement. We do not use analytics data to build advertising audiences or track people across unrelated websites.

We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits, navigation and broad device or referral information. The Google tag is not downloaded and no information is sent to Google unless you accept analytics. Advertising storage, ad user data, ad personalisation and Google signals are disabled in our tag configuration.

Our hosting and security infrastructure may use short-lived technical mechanisms where they are essential to deliver pages, balance traffic, protect forms, prevent abuse or maintain security. These mechanisms are used only for the necessary function and not for advertising.

4

Categories of cookies

Strictly necessary

Essential for a requested website function, security, traffic delivery or recording a cookie choice. Consent is not normally required, but we still explain their use.

Preferences

Remember choices such as language, region or display settings. These are not currently used; consent will be requested where the law requires.

Analytics and performance

Vercel measures anonymised page views and performance without analytics cookies. Google Analytics measures website use only after you accept analytics.

Advertising and targeting

Profile interests, measure campaigns or track activity across services. CV WS does not currently use these technologies.

Cookie names can change when infrastructure is updated. We periodically audit the website and will revise this inventory if technology is added, removed or materially changed.

6

Third-party websites and services

The website contains links to services such as Trustpilot, payment providers, email addresses, telephone links, recruiters, job platforms or other websites. Following a link may allow that third party to set its own cookies or similar technologies under its own policy. CV WS does not control cookies placed after you leave our website.

If you accept analytics, Google processes website measurement information as our analytics provider under its applicable terms and privacy information. Our configuration is for analytics measurement, not personalised advertising.

We do not currently embed third-party advertising or social-media tracking pixels. If embedded media or another third-party tool is added later, it will remain blocked until any required consent has been obtained.

7

Consent and your choices

Strictly necessary technologies may operate without consent where they are essential to provide a service you request, transmit a communication or meet an applicable security requirement.

For Google Analytics, we request a clear choice before its tag loads or its cookies are set. Continuing to browse is not treated as consent. Rejecting analytics does not prevent access to the core website.

You can accept, reject or change analytics below. Withdrawing consent blocks the Google tag on future page loads and removes Google Analytics cookies accessible to this website, but cannot undo processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal.

8

Managing cookies through your browser

Most browsers allow you to view, block and delete cookies through their privacy or security settings. Browser controls vary, so consult the help information provided by your browser developer.

Blocking all cookies may affect functions that rely on essential session or security technology. Deleting cookies may remove saved choices, requiring them to be selected again on a later visit.

9

Cookies involving personal information

Where a cookie or similar identifier relates to an identifiable person, the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 may also apply. Our Privacy Policy explains the purposes and lawful bases for processing, recipients, retention, international transfers and your rights.

You may contact us to exercise applicable rights, including access, correction, erasure, restriction and objection. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

10

Changes to this policy and contact

We review this policy when website technology, suppliers or legal requirements change. Updates will be published here with a revised date. Where a material change requires a new choice, we will request that choice before activating the relevant non-essential technology.

Questions about cookies can be sent to admin@cv-ws.com, by telephone on 020 4620 6352, or by post to CV WS, 1029a Finchley Rd, Finchley, London NW11 7ES.
